How to request deletion
Send an email to billing@macsbit.com with the subject “Data deletion request” and include:
- the WhatsApp phone number that was used (with country code);
- the name of the business that asked you to verify, if you were verified for a business;
- whether you want us to delete identity-verification data, WhatsApp messages, or everything;
- if you are a business account holder: the email address of your dashboard account.
To protect your data from someone else asking on your behalf, we may ask you to confirm the request by replying from the WhatsApp number concerned or from the registered account email.
How long it takes
We aim to complete verified deletion requests within 30 days and will confirm by email when done. If we cannot delete something, we will tell you why.
What we delete
- Identity document photographs, selfie, and the details read from the document (name, ID or passport number, date of birth, gender, address, nationality, licence details).
- The verification result, scores and session reference attached to your record.
- WhatsApp messages and contact details held for your number.
- For business account holders: the dashboard account, its staff users and connected credentials.
Businesses control their customers' records
If you were verified for a business, that business decides how your data is used and may have its own obligations to keep records. We will act on valid requests, and may need to involve the business before deleting data it is required to keep.
What is deleted automatically
- Identity verification data on a contact record is replaced with a deletion marker once the last message activity with that contact is more than 90 days old (checked nightly).
- WhatsApp messages older than 90 days are deleted (checked hourly).
What we may keep
- Billing and invoice records, for as long as Malaysian law requires.
- Information we must keep to comply with a legal obligation or to establish or defend a legal claim.
- Copies in infrastructure-level snapshots or backups, if any, until they rotate out.
Disconnecting through Meta
If you are a business that connected a WhatsApp Business account through Meta, you can also remove our app's access at any time from your Meta Business settings (Integrations). Doing this stops us from sending messages through your number but does not by itself delete data we hold; send a deletion request as described above for that.
